The Blossom Book project involved a group of Adults with Special Needs from a Social Education Centre in North Hykeham, near Lincoln . The programme was designed to be an ongoing series of courses in papermaking, screenprinting, relief printing, paper marbling, and bookbinding, in which all of the participants became quite expert . Using the garden as a source of local inspiration, all of the pages of this group book were made from recycled materials, flowers and herbs from the herbaceous borders outside of the artist’s studio.  Working with Janet Crafer, professional gardener and tapestry weaver, the book was finished with a special woven cover which protects the unique pages inside. Every member of the group also made a smaller version of the book, so that they all had a keepsake and memory of the project.
