Working at the Washington Arts Centre in Sunderland, Jonathan was asked by the writer Helen East to devise a workshop programme for school children to help her to illustrate a book which she was writing. But in this case, the book was only half finished ! Helen worked with the children and encouraged them to bring the story to a conclusion through writer’s workshops, whilst Jonathan ran a series of printmaking sessions to teach the children how to illustrate the pages. This collaboration resulted in the creation of “Frances Fisher R.I.P. : A Ghost's Tale”. Helen and Jonathan designed the page layout, sent the work to the printers, and this lovely fully illustrated 142 paperback was the result. |
