Stamford Medieval Banner Project

Screenprinted onto cotton fabric, these large colourful banners were made by  85 children in three Stamford Primary Schools. Basing their ideas on medieval images such as heraldic shields, castles, knights in shining armour, dragons and damsels in distress, the children were taught how to translate their drawings into stencils which were then printed in a variety of colours. These banners were then hung  in  St. Leonard’s Priory in Stamford, Lincolnshire for a special commemorative event in the summer.
