Banner Making for Adults Screenprinting is the best way for groups of people to print large scale images on cloth to create colourful and exciting banners. The course is designed to make use of small screens in average sized venues. Students are taught how to draw and cut paper stencils which are then used to screenprint on to paper, employing techniques of colour printing and over printing. Once the basic concepts are understood, people can move on to collaborating with colleagues to design a number of images to make a unique print in a much larger format. This is seen as an opportunity for a number of people to work together on a common theme, and is suitable for pre-exisiting groups or newly formed units when people are just getting to know one another. Group dynamics and community spirit go a long way towards making this a successful project for art clubs, festival committees and village hall supporters. All the equipment and materials required for this course are supplied.. It takes a minimum of two days for this programme. There is space for 15 adults aged 16 years and upwards., working on 11 different frames, as not everyone will be printing at all times: other tasks involve drawing, stencil preparation, ink mixing and design work. The printing inks are waterproof once sealed with a hot iron.
