Lino and Woodcut Printing

Woodcuts have always been appreciated for their unique graphic qualities, and their history dates right back to Medieval time when the very first prints were made in Europe. Woodblock, and it’s more contemporary linoleum are excellent material to use to make multiple relief prints .

This course teaches you the basics of drawing, designing and carving the material so that you can make your own edition of prints in one, two, or even three colours. Printing is done by hand-burnishing and on easy to use print presses.

The programme runs for two days, to give everyone adequate time to learn the basics and to gain some skill in the carving and printing of the imagery. The course is for Adults, and requires a fair amount of physical work over the period of the two days
