Papermaking has been an integral part of the education programme for many years, as children have a naturally capacity for forming the sheets of paper and couching them onto  curved tabletops. They are fascinated by what goes into the papermakers vat, and enjoy using their papers once they are dry.  These children can be seen working in the Crescent Arts Workshop in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, as part of the North Riding College Residency programme.
